The Location - Mateh Yehudah Mateh Yehuda is the largest regional council in Israel, with many different types of towns and communities. The Council's geographic location is in a pastoral area of central Israel, 20 minutes from Ben-Gurion Airport, and within an hour’s drive of more than 50% of Israel’s population. While the average socioeconomic level of residents is middle class, there are large gaps between rich and poor communities, and sometimes even between neighbors. There are currently no incubators of the Chief Scientist, Small Business Development Center (MATI) or Unit for Economic Development (“Yachpak”) in the region. The Mateh Yehuda Council has been selected for a pilot program in the framework of the “Israel 15” project, whose mission is to place Israel among the top 15 most developed countries in the world. Last year, a number of government officials, business groups and leading Jewish organizations worked on the planning and promoting of social and business activity in the regional council. The Incubator considers itself a partner in promoting the vision of developing the region as a leading, innovative center for entrepreneurship.
